1761 Burials

The following data is extracted from Church Record of Old Ebenezer Church, Effingham County, Georgia.

George Gross, 45 years old, died in Bethany Feb. 3, 1761, and was buried there on the 4th.

Thomas Geschwandel, 66 years old, died on his plantation March 8, 1761, and was buried on the Plantation cemetery on the l0th.

Judith, a daughter of Balthaser Kiefer, somewhat over three years old, died early on April 8, and was buried the next day on his plantation.

Matthias Seckinger died July 22, 1761 before day and was buried in the afternoon of the same day in the Town cemetery. He was 44 years old.

Michael Mackh, a child of 17 months, died in Bethany, Nov. 4, 1761, and was buried there on the 5th.

Fredericka Margaret Bollinger, 2 years ,and 2 months old, died early on Nov. 12, 1761, and was buried in the after-noon in Bethany.

Matthew Groll, 12 years old, was born in Niederstotzinger, and died in Ebenezer, Nov. 17, 1761, and was buried the next day in the Town cemetery.

Catharine, a negro girl, who was born and baptized on June 27, 1753, died on the Preacher Plantation Nov. 19, 1761, and the next day received Christian burial.

Hannah Elizabeth, youngest daughter of Dan. Schubtrein, 1 1/2 years old, died in the evening of Nov. 22, and was buried on the 23rd.

David Neidlinger, a child of 11 months, died Dec. 4, 1761, and was buried on the 5th.

Samuel Schubtrein, 2 years and 8 months old, died Dec. 13, 1761, and was buried in the Plantation cemetery on the 14th.

N. B.-Up to this point the deceased have been reported.
