1778 Marriages

The following data is extracted from Church Record of Old Ebenezer Church, Effingham County, Georgia.

Mr. John Adam Treutlin, late Governor of this State, and Mrs. Anne Unselt, widow, were both united in marriage the 14th of Jan., 1778. Text: Hebr. 13:8. Jesus Christ the same yesterday and to-day.

John Bilbow, Capt. of a Company of Horses, and Jane Hudson of this State Spinster, have been married on giving Security the 12th of Febr., 1778.

Jacob Ihle and Jane Border a widow, both of Effingham County, have been joined by a License on the i0 Day of March, 1778.

Christian Jonathan Zipperer and Gratiosa Zittrauer have been married by a License on the 10th Day of March, 1778. Text : I Tim. 4.

John Christopher Buntz and Hannah Elizabeth Hangleiter have been married on the 13 of March, 1778. Text : I Thessal. 3, V. 12, 13.

William Kennedy and Elizabeth Treutlen, both of this State, have been married on the 8th Day 0f April, 1778. Text: Luc. 15, v. 11.

The Revd. Mr. Joseph Cook and Anne Boullin, both of Carolina, have been married on the% 90f May, 1778.

Matthew Biddenbach and Apelonia Kiefer were both united in Christian marriage July 28, 1778. Text: Eph. 5:25-33.

Christopher Baile and Welsh, both of the State of Georgia have been married the 18th Day of May, 1778.

Abraham Fred Jackocho and Jenny Kain have been married the 25th of Augst., 1778.

Daniel Weitman and Miss Salome ? were both united in Christian marriage Oct. 28, 1777. Text: Is. 61:10. I will greatly rejoice.

William Kennedy and Elizabeth Quillen were married the 1778.
