1775 Baptisms

The following data is extracted from Church Record of Old Ebenezer Church, Effingham County, Georgia.

Hannah, daughter of John Scheeraus and his wife Mary Magdalene, was born Feb. 5, 1775, baptized the same day. Sponsors: John Michel and his wife Mary.

Hannah Elizabeth, daughter of Mr. Schrind from Pennsylvania, was born Dec. 26, 1774, and baptized March 2, 1775. Sponsors were Mr. Kuebler and Hannah his wife from Goshen.

John Caspar, son of Mr. John Caspar Kreiner in Halifax, was born in July, 1774, and received lay baptism in the month of August, 1774, which was confirmed May 16, 1775. Sponsors were Mr. John Caspar Kreiner and Louis Louis, wife of Mr. Louis.

Carolina, Daughter of John Long in Halifax, born on the 5th of Jan., 1773, baptized on the 16th of March, 1775, both Parents being Godfathers and Mr. Casp. Kreiner and Caroline Kreiner.

Jane and Rose, Children of James Miller, the First born in the Month, 1773, the Second in the Month of Jan., 1775, both baptized on the 11th of March, 1775, Mr. John Caspar Kreiner and Rosina Hirschman were Godfathers.

Martha, Daughter of John Johnston, born the 15th of Sept., 1773, and baptized on the 16th of March, 1775. Parents Godfather and Godmother.

John, Son of John Johnston, born in the Month of Aug., 1774, baptized on the 16th of March, 1775, both Parents being Witnesses.

David, Son of Mathew Artis in Beach Eyland, two years old, was baptized on the 24th of March, 1775, both Parents being Witnesses.

David Conrad, Son of John Conrad Nail and Rose Maria his Wife, born in the Month of Novbr., 1774, baptized on the 24th of March. Godfather, Mr. John Murray and Mr. Nail.

Sarah, Daughter of John Staehle, born in the Month of April, 1774, baptized on the 24th of March, 1775. Godfather, Mr. David Tubly and the Mother.

Abigail, Daughter of Daniel Miller and Sarah his Wife, was born on the 1st Day of Aug., 1770, baptized on the 26th of March, 1775.

Catharine, daughter of Mr. Nicholas Schubtrein and his wife Margaret, was born April 3, 1775, and baptized the same day. Sponsors were Mr. Joseph Schubtrein and his wife.

Johanna, daughter of John Scheeraus and his wife: was born April 10, 1775, and baptized on the 11th. Sponsors were John Binninger and Johanna his wife.

Christopher Frederick, son of Pastor Christopher Frederick Triebner and Frederica Mary his wife, was born July 12, 1775 in the evening at 8 o'clock, and on the 13th committed to the Lord Christ by holy baptism. Sponsors were Mr. John Caspar Wertsch, Mr. Christopher Kraemer, Salome Lemcke and Timothy Lemcke.

Solomon, son of John Maurer and his wife Mary Magdalene, was born Oct. 7, 1775, and baptized Oct. 8, 1775. Sponsors were Solomon Zant and Dorothea and his wife and John Floerl.

Mary, daughter of Matthias Biddenbach and Anna his wife, was born Oct. 10, 1775 in the night, and baptized on the 11th. Sponsors were Mr. Christopher Kraemer and Catharine his wife and Mrs. Frederica Mary Triebner.

Joshua Peter, son of John Peter Freyermuth and his wife Catharine, was born Oct. 18, 1775, and baptized on the 19th. Sponsors were Christopher Fred. Triebner, Anna Eva Haberer, Daniel Weitmann and Anna Margaret Groll.

William, son of William King and Sarah his wife, being born on the l0th Day of April, 1775, and baptized on the eight of Augst., 1775, both Parents stood Godfather and Godmother.

James, Little Son of James Goldwire and his wife, being born in the 25th Day of May, 1775, and baptized on the 25th of Oct., 1775, both Parents being Godfathers.

Elizabeth, Daughter of John Caspar Hirschman and his Wife at Halifax, being born on the 27th Day of May. 1775, and christened on the 1st of Decbr. Jacob Ihle.

Mary Newman, Spouse of John Kittle living in Carolina, was baptized on the Seventh Day of Novbr., 1775 just before they were married in the Presence of the Company, who accompanied them.
