White, Myron

     Myron White, an active representative of the Muskogee bar for the past two decades, has been accorded an extensive and gratifying clientage in recognition of his skill in the handling of intricate legal problems. He is numbered among the native sons of Kangas, his birth having occurred in Brown county on the 6th of September, 1875. His father, Jesse H. White, a native of Ohio, came of Revolutionary stock and was of English lineage. He served as a soldier of the Union army during the four-year period 'of the Civil war and after the close of the conflict he married Miss Ella White, who though of the same name was not a relative. She was born in Wisconsin, while her father was a native of Scotland and her mother of Ireland. To Jesse H. and Ella White were born two children: Jesse M. and Myron. After the death of his first wife, which occurred when their son, Myron, was but two years of age, Mr. White was again married and became the father of seven more children.
     When his mother died Myron White was taken to the home of his grandmother in Ohio and was there reared to the age of ten years, then he went to his father's in Kansas. His early educational training, which was received in the, public schools, was supplemented by a course of study in the Hiawatha Academy of Kansas and in Washburn College at Topeka.
     He was one of the many students of the latter institution who enlisted in 1898 for service in the Spanish-American war and was a member of the College Company of the famous Twenty-second Kansas Regiment. He was on duty for ten months and acted as regimental color bearer during that entire period. After the close of his military service he entered the law department of the University of Kansas, which conferred upon him the degree of LL. B. at his graduation on the 12th of June, 1902, at which time he was also admitted to practice at the Kansas bar.
     On the 17th of June of that year, five days following his graduation, he came to Muskogee, where he has remained in law practice throughout the intervening period, winning and maintaining an enviable reputation as an attorney of pronounced ability and acknowledged power. The zeal with which he has devoted his energies to his profession, the careful regard evinced for the interests of his clients and an assiduous and un-relaxing attention to all-the details of his cases, have brought him a large business and made 'him very successful in its conduct.
     In December, 1902, Mr. White was united in marriage to Miss Sadie E. Swank of Topeka, and they have become parents of three children: Myron Eugene, Margaret Ella and Paul Russell.
     In his political views Mr. White
is a Republican, while fraternally he is a Knights Templar Mason and member of the Mystic Shrine. His aid and influence can ever be counted upon to further any movement instituted to promote municipal progress or advance the general welfare and he has long been numbered among the leading and representative citizens as well as able lawyers of Muskogee.
