Seaman 2nd Class (Navy); of Lenoir County; son of Horace and Mrs. Hattie West. Entered service May 31, 1918, at Kinston, N.C. Sent to St. Helena, Va. On U. S. S. Southport, Hospital Ambulance, Nov. 15, 1918, to July, 1919. Mustered out at Norfolk, Va., Aug. 5, 1919.
