The following data is extracted from North Carolina, World War 1, Military Records.

H. A. Enlisted June 7, 1918, in the Naval Reserve at Charlotte, N.C. Was sent to Hampton Roads, Va. Transferred to steamship New York on Oct. 25, 1918. In November transferred to U. S. S. Matsonia, transport, and sailed on Dec. 6, 1918, for Bordeaux. Returned Jan. 3, 1919. Released Jan. 15, 1919. Home address, Concord, N.C.
