Yeoman 1st Class, U. S. N. R. F.; of Craven County; son of Charles B. and Clare Hill. Entered service May 22, 1918, at Wilmington, N.C. Sent to Charleston, S. C., July 25, 1918. Served in U. S. Naval Clothing Factory, Navy Yard, Charleston, S. C., from July 26, 1918, to June 2, 1919. Transferred to Supply Dept., Navy Yard, Charleston, S. C., June 2, 1919, and served until discharged. Member 1st Co., C. A. C., N.C. N. G. Served a period of enlistment three years. Company organized at New Bern, N.C. Mustered out at Charleston, S. C., August 7, 1919.
