The following data is extracted from North Carolina, World War 1, Military Records.
Private, Co. K, 120th Regt., 30th Div.; from Halifax County, N.C.; son of A. R. and Katie Hedgepeth. Entered the service at Halifax, N.C., Oct. 2, 1917. Sent to Camp Jackson, S. C. Sailed for France June 6, 1918. Fought at Ypres, Belgium, and Bellicourt. Wounded at battle of Bellicourt Sept. 29, 1918, by shell in hip. Sent to Base Hospital No. 29, Tottenham, Eng. Returned to the USA April 13, 1919, and mustered cut of the service at Camp Jackson, S. C., April 18, 1919.
