The following data is extracted from History of the Town of Cornish, Sullivan County, New Hampshire.
6. ANDREW7 COMINGS (Samuel6-5, John4-3-2, Isaac1) b. Oct. 9, 1776. Worked in his father's mill from the age of fourteen till he was twenty-four, when he built a brick cottage house on a farm a mile east from his birthplace, where he spent most of his life. Beside farming, he worked at the carpenter's trade. Built the Catholic Church at West Claremont and the Methodist Episcopal Church in Cornish and other buildings. He m. first, May 29, 1800, Lydia Jackson, dau. of Benjamin and Lydia (Peck) Jackson, b. May 27, 1773, in R. I. She d. May 13, 1849, aged 76. He m. second, March 8, 1850, Mrs. Betsey (Tyler) Atwood in his advanced age and lived for a time on Cornish Flat. He d. July 11, 1853. Children, all by Lydia Jackson:
i. FARIS, b. Feb. 20, 1801; d. Dec. 14, 1803.
ii. URSULA, b. May 2, 1802; d. Sept. 5, 1803.
10 iii. WILLIAM F., b. Nov. 13, 1803.
iv. SULA BELONA, b. March 12, 1805; m. Nov. 25, 1830, Joseph Bryant of Cornish. Six children. (See Bryant.) She d. April 30, 1867. He d. March 14, 1877. Res., Bridgewater, Vt., after 1837.
v. LYDIA DELILAH, b. Jan. 19, 1807; m. Jan. 22, 1834, Joseph S. Comings. She d. Sept. 19,1872. Res., Bridgewater, Vt. Six children.
vi. SOPHIA M., b. Sept. 10, 1803; d. July 22. 1815.
vii. NELLY P., b. Aug. 16, 1810; m. Oct. 11, 1837, John G. Cross. She d. Aug. 2, 1838. One child.
viii. MARCIA LOUISA, b. Oct. 13, 1812; m. Jan. 25, 1841, Bela Jenks Fletcher of Newport. Res., Claremont. One son, Francis Edgar, b. in Claremont Feb. 18, 1847. She d. Aug. 15, 1903.
ix. LUCIA ANA, b. Jan. 30, 1816; m. March 5, 1846, Chauncy Perry Jenney, b. Feb. 27, 1815. One son, Fred C., b. in Cornish July 4, 1845. (See Jenney.) Rem. in 1888 to Toledo, O., where Mr. Jenney d. Oct. 9, 1903. She d. June 9.1905.
