He is noted for his strict integrity and has all the traits of his early ancestor for those sterling qualities which go to make a good citizen; was assistant postmaster under both the Grant and the Harrison administrations. Was Census Enumerator town of Lisle, N. Y., 1880, and appointed Notary Public. but did not qualify; m Frances Collier Jan. 18, 1888 of Lisle, N. Y., b Oct. 18, 1862, at Lisle, N. Y.
