Woodworth, Elijah Burghardt

3-4-6-6-3-3-2 Elijah Burghardt Woodworth b Aug. 7, 1853 at Centre Lisle, N. Y. m, May 31, 1882 Mary Eliza Benham, daughter of Allen B. Benham of Cortland, N. Y. She b Jan. 9, 1855, d Nov. 12, 1892, at Medford, Mass., m (2) Lois Haskel (Curtis) Fernald at Somerville, Mass. Dec. 22, 1894. She b June 27, 1855.

Mr. Woolworth was educated at the public schools of his native town and the normal school at Cortland, N. Y. He was a teacher for many years, and at one time head master of the graded school in DeRuyter, N. Y. He studied law with judge Hiram Grandall of Cortland, N. Y., entering his name with the clerk of the Court of Appeals in New York State as a law student, Nov. 2, 1874. A year or two later he decided on a different course in life, and located in the East, and later going into the Real Estate business in Boston, under the firm name of Leavitt & Woolworth, in which line they have been more or less successful, their interest and holdings extending over a part of New England, including Medford, Arlington, Melrose, Mass., New London, Stonington, Willimantic, Conn., and Concord, N. H.

3-4-6-6-3-3-2-1 Margerie Benham Woolworth b Mar. 24, 1887 in Boston, Mass., "under the shadow of Bunker Hill Monument." Now (1900) at Lady Grey School in Binghamton, N. Y. Residing with her aunt, Mrs. William J. Haskin, at 169 Hawley St.
3-4-6-6-3-3-4 Charles Ashley Woodworth b May 28, 1859, m Edna Drake, who d Aug. 19, 1898.
Child:-
3-4-6-6-3-3-4-1 Roland Ashley Woolworth b July 26, 1898, lives with his grandfather, Mr. Frederick Drake, in Caribou, Maine
