Wilson, Asa Eliot

The following data is extracted from A history of the town of Sullivan, New Hampshire, 1777-1917.

Archelaus1 Wilson, m. in May, 1775, Sarah Morse; they were both of Temple. He d. in Packersfield (now Nelson) June 28, 1802, in his 57th year. Their ch. were:

  1. Abigail2, b. Apr. 3, 1777; m. Calvin Nims (q. v.) She was perhaps b. in Temple; the following were all b. Packersfield (Nelson):
  2. Asa2, b. May 23, 1779, m. Catherine Wright, who d. in Nelson, Oct. 21, 1847. He d. in Sullivan, Aug. 13, 1869. Their ch. all b. in Packersfield were:
    1. 1. Asa Eliot3, b. Dec. 25, 1803, was a tanner and farmer and lived in New Rowley, Mass., Nelson, Alstead, Sullivan and Marlow; he d. in Nelson; m. (1), Sept. 4, 1832, Almira Breed, b. Packersfield, Mar. 29, 1808; d. Marlow, May 18, 1864; dau. of Nathaniel 3rd and Nancy (Whitney) Breed of Nelson; m. (2), in Sullivan, by Rev. J. M. Stow, Nov. 29, 1866; Mrs. Elizabeth Kendrick (Hunt) Osgood, widow of Samuel Osgood of Nelson, and dau. of Timothy and Mary (Kendrick) Hunt of Stoddard, where she was b. Dec. 25, 1812; d. at Nelson, May 2, 1890. Four ch.:
      1. Isaac Braman4, b. Alstead, Oct. 29, 1836; d. at Pleasant Valley, Md. in army, Oct. 23, 1862.
      2. Matilda Caroline4, b. Alstead, Nov. 24, 1838, m. Dec. 1, 1875, James Homer Darling, b. Cambridge, Vt., July 25, 1838, son of Hayes P. and Apphia (Hubbard) Darling. They res. at Thompsonville, Conn., where he was a homoeapathic physician many years, and where she d. June 8. 1910. Two ch. b. Thompsonville:
        1. Ethel Maria5 Darling, b. Nov. 13, 1876;
        2. Blanche Inez5 Darling, b. Aug. 6, 1880; d. Apr. 6, 1892. Dr. Darling was first m. to Caroline M. Burnham of Rindge. They were m. July 19, 1865, and she d. in Keene, Nov. 5, 1874. She was b. in Rindge, Mar. 3, 1831, dau. of Rev. Amos Wood and Tirzah (Kimball) Burnham; they had a dau.,
          1. Mary Caroline6, who d. in Keene, Feb. 19, 1871, aged about 6 months.
      3. Edward Elliot4, b. Sullivan, Nov. 22, 1841, m. Mar. 28, 1869, Helen P. Butterick of Sterling, Mass. He d. at Concord, N. H., Feb. 21, 1882, and she m. (2), Charles Russell and res. Clinton, Mass.
      4. Rockwell Breed4, b. Oct. 14, 1843, m. Sept. 1, 1881, at Thompsonville, Conn., by Rev. F. S. Barnum, Julia Esther Alden; b. Enfield, Conn., Mar. 20, 1853; dau. of Edmond Bemont and Frances Augusta (Dennison) Alden. He lived in Enfield, Conn., East Boston, Mass., and was a commercial traveller, carrying teas, coffee, etc. He died in Springfield, Mass., May 23, 1891. Two ch.:

        2. Alice Dennison5, b. Jan. 22, 1884.
