Minnick, Isaac C.

The following data is extracted from History of Daviess County, Missouri - Jackson Township, Daviess County, Missouri, Biographies.

Is a native of Washington County, Virginia, and was born July 24, 1815. His parents, John and Betsey McCauley Minnick, were both natives of the salve State, where they both died. He was reared to manhood upon his father's farm, and received his education in the early schools of his native County. In 1837 he migrated to Schuyler County, Illinois, where he was united in marriage to -Miss Nancy Offield, daughter of Jesse Offield, on the 27th of September, 1838. He continued to reside in Illinois until 1841, when he removed to this County, where he has since made his home and engaged in farming. Mr. and Mrs. Minnick became parents of four children, named as follows: Mary J. (now Mrs. W. P. McClure), Thomas,. Susan M. (now Mrs. Frank Smith), and John R. Mrs. Minnick died September 14, 1864, sincerely mourned by her relatives and many friends. - On the 16th of February, 1867, Mr. Minnick married Miss Obedience Tie. They are both members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Minnick owns a fine farm of 275 acres, 180 of which are under cultivation, and 100 acres under fence. He is a Democrat in politics, and is known as a substantial farmer and valuable citizen.
