Bloom, Rosetha 'Rose' Ellen Everson

The following data is extracted from Cherry County, Nebraska Obituaries.

Rose Ellen Everson was born in Fremont, Iowa, Oct. 17th, 1874, the daughter of John and Polly Ann Everson, one of the five children; and departed this life at her ranch home near Wood Lake, Nebr., Feb. 21st, 1943, at the age of sixty-eight years, four months, and four days. She was married July 25th, 1894, to George Arthur Bloom, at Carson, Iowa. To this union was born one son, Sedric Cleo. She moved with her family to La Plata, Mo., where they remained twenty-three years. They came to Nebraska in 1925, where they have since resided.

Altho Mrs. Bloom was a woman of many and varied activities she always held her home and family above all. These were her first thought and consideration. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church, P. E. O. of Valentine, a charter member of the D. A. R. of La Plata, Mo., a member of the Wood Lake Woman's Club and promoted the Wood Lake Public Library. She was president of the Red Cross of La Plata during World War No. 1 and has always been actively engaged in charitable work of all kinds. Her friends were counted by her acquaintances.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her beloved husband George, her son and wife, Mr. and Mrs. S. C. Bloom, two grandsons, George Allen and Sedric Cleo Jr., all of whom reside at Wood Lake; her brother Rittner of Griswold, Iowa; four nephews, Opal, Dale, and Howard Everson of Iowa and Lloyd Hellman of Colo., three nieces, Mrs. Harry Harts of Iowa, Mrs. Yale Kiroloff and Mrs. Beryl Plowman of California. Most of them are present at this service.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the high school auditorium, the Rev. Samuel Waring of Valentine officiating, and interment was in the Wood Lake Cemetery.
