Wilson, Marietta Rose Chaves Mrs. – Obituary

Marietta Rose Wilson, 65, of Springfield, died June 23, 2007, at her home with her loving family by her side.

A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Cathedral, First and Church streets. Bishop Thomas Connolly will officiate. There will be a graveside services at Mount Hope Cemetery.

She was born on March 25, 1942, at Baker City to Arthur and Ivona Vandewiele Chaves. She worked as a medical librarian at Mercy Medical Center for 22 years and then worked at the Clark State Community College library for seven years.

Marietta’s beautiful smile brought joy, warmth and compassion to others. In her life she inspired others with her love of family, travel and books.

Marietta loved to play games with her friends and grandchildren, walk on the beach and watch birds in her back yard. She will be remembered for her love of her grandchildren, service to her church and for her 43 years with her best friend and husband, Glenn.

Survivors also include her daughter, Kimberly Wilson of New Bedford, Mass.; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Dara Wilson of Findlay, Ohio; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Ernest Fullmer of Hillsboro, Marge and Richard Weitzel of Vancouver, Wash., and Mary Jo Chaves, Order of St. Francis, of Portland; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Duane and Cheryl Chaves of Silverton and Richard and Kathleen Chaves of Baker City; three grandchildren, Jacob, Jeremy and Laura Wilson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
