Services Held For Jay Weaver

Funeral services for Jay Weaver were held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Christian Church at Wallowa with Minister O. W. Jones in charge and the church choir singing “In The Garden” and “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere.” Pallbearers were Tom McBath, Jr., Alderin Oliver, Bill Cramer, Levi Johnson, Clarence Bergett and Frank Murphy. Interment was in the Wallowa cemetery.

Donald Jay Weaver was born December 7, 1904 in Wallowa, Oregon. He passed away November 16 at the hospital in Ephrata, Washington. Had he lived until his birthday in December, he would have been forty-five years old.

On December 10,1926, he was married to Margaret Nedrow of Richland, Oregon. One child was born to this union, Mrs. Dona Sexton, of South Bend, Indiana.

Surviving Mr. Weaver, are his wife and daughter, his son-in-law, Richard Sexton, and two grandchildren, Rodney and Connie. Of his immediate family, his mother, Mary Weaver, survives, also seven brothers and three sisters, all of Wallowa and vicinity. They are Wayne, Lloyd, Kenneth, Wilbur, Selby, Martin, Marshall, Mrs. Edna Coleman, Mrs. Blanche Schaeffer, and Mrs. Myrtle Armon. His father, Elizah Weaver, and three brothers, preceded him in death.

While born in Wallowa and spending his boyhood days here, most of Mr. Weaver’s life had been spent in Klamath Falls, Oregon.
