A Sudden Death

One of the saddest events it has been the Republican’s duty to chronicle, is the sudden death of Mrs. Josie Walling, of this city. She had been in general good health up to a short time previous to her taking off, when she complained of not feeling well. Tuesday she was at home alone at her residence near the public school building; Mr. Walling left her at 2:15 and at 3:30 o’clock her little daughter returning from school found her prostate upon the floor of her bedroom and as she could not arouse her ran over to their neighbor, Mrs. James and summoned her. When assistance arrived there was no help for her, and all indications are of heart failure. Mr. Walling has the sympathy of the community in this sad bereavement.

Caused by Heart Failure

The coroner’s jury empanelled by Justice Blakeslee to enquire into the death of Mrs. Josie Walling, completed their labors yesterday morning and made the following report:

In the matter of the inquest upon the body of Josie Walling, deceased:

We the jury impanelled to enquire into the death of Josie walling, find that said Josie Walling came to her death in Union, Union county, Oregon on the 1st day of November, 1892.

That we find that she came to her death through heart failure.
