Ira Smith Funeral To Be Held Tuesday

Funeral services for Ira Smith, 89, retired farmer, of Elgin who died Saturday at his home, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Elgin Methodist church.

Rev. Edward Bawden will officiate and burial follows in Elgin cemetery. Daniels Funeral Home is in charge.

Born in Illinois, Mr. Smith had lived in Elgin for 65 years. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Henrietta Smith, Elgin; three sons, Harry Smith of La Grande, George Smith of Elgin, and Tom Smith of Ontario; three daughters, Miss Florence Smith of La Grande, Mrs. Marie Blanchard of Portland, and Mrs. Beulah Sams, Vancouver, Wash.; one brother, Ralph Smith, Pendleton; and 11 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Note: He was the son of A.B.C. Smith and Mary Ann (Frazier) Smith of Summerville.
