Ritchie, Kathryn McCord Mrs. – Obituary

Kathryn McCord Ritchie, 88, of Walla Walla, Wash., died at her home April 22, 2003.

A viewing was held from 1 p.m. -8 p.m. April 23 at View Funeral Chapel, 1551 Dalles Military Road. The graveside service was at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Garden Mausoleum, Mountain View Cemetery, 2120 S. Second Ave., with the Rev. Robin Peterson of College Place Presbyterian Church officiating.

Mrs. Ritchie was born June 16, 1914 in Baker City to O.H.P. and Edith Bachman McCord. She graduated from Baker High School.

On March 6, 1954, she married Leslie A. Ritchie in Baker. She moved to the Walla Walla area from Baker in 1942. Mr. Ritchie preceded her in death.

She was past president of the Walla Walla Country Club Women’s Board, a former YWCA Board member and volunteered at Carnegie Art Center and at Red Cross blood drives. She was a member of CN of PEO, El-Trueco Study Club and several bridge clubs.

Survivors include daughter, Sandra Ritchie, son and daughter-in-law, Don and Cappy Ritchie, all of Walla Walla; three grandchildren, Laurie Ferraro and husband Steve, Karen Scott and Regan Ritchie, all of Walla Walls; three great-grandchildren, Nathan, Chandra and Lindsay Ferraro, all of Walla Walla; two nieces and a nephew.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a brother and a sister.

Memorials may be made to Walla Walla Community Hospice or YWCA through Mountain View Funeral Chapel 1551 Dalles Military Road, Walla Walla, WA 99362.
