Nelson, Mark Alan – Obituary

Mark Alan Nelson, 52, was born Feb. 12, 1954, to Charles and Joyce Nelson, in Seattle, Wash. Mark passed away Nov. 25, 2006, at St. Alphonus Hospital, in Boise Idaho, due to heart failure.

Mark graduated from Seattle High School, in Seattle Wash., in 1972. He enlisted in the Army right out of High School and went to Vietnam as a helicopter medic and was honorably discharged. After the military, Mark came back to Seattle, Wash., where he owned a Tavern business, silk screening business and then managed a company that manufactured composite water skies. Mark retired in 2005 from the Boeing Company after 18 years where he worked on the military program. His last job for Boeing was working on the 722 Raptor.

Mark was truly a kid at heart and passed at the young age of 52. Mark loved fishing, hunting, gardening and construction. He also carved and painted duck decoys. His last big adventure was rock hunting. He met Kristi Jones in Olympia, Wash., and they were married in 1996. They then moved to Baker City, Ore., in 2005. Mark was a great, great man and truly enjoyed living in Baker City, this last year.

He joined the Baker Elks and the Me and You clubs with recommendations from his father-in-law, C. W. Tiny Jones.

Mark is survived by his wife, Kristi; mother, Joyce and her husband Mel; three brothers, John, Paul and David and their wives Jan, Wesley, Kim and Friend Everett Jones.
