Al Murphy, 76, of Cove, died Sunday, Feb. 24 (1979), at Grande Ronde Hospital.

Mr. Murphy was born Aug. 18, 1903 at Cove, the son of Walter and Florence (Comstock) Murphy. He married Flossie Rollins in Cove, Sept. 2, 1923. He retired as a mechanic from Inland Machinery when the company moved to Yakima, Wash.

Mr. Murphy was a member of the National Riflemen’s Association.

Survivors include his wife, of Cove; son, Keith Murphy, of La Grande; sister, Mrs. Ward (Thelma) Miller, of Union; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Services are scheduled Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Cove Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Hart of the First Christian Church officiating.

Services are under the direction of Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel.
