Michael Don Moschkau, 32, of La Grande, died peacefully in his sleep on Jan. 9. A memorial service will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church on Gekeler Lane in La Grande.

Michael was born on Oct. 2, 1975 in Salem, the son of LeeRoy L. and Diane M. (Kirk) Moschkau. He was currently working at WalMart where he hoped to advance with his degrees.

Michael was passionate about many things, especially his faith. He was a member and trustee of the Faith Lutheran Church and was also their faithful lawn caretaker. He loved his family and helped all of them with whatever they needed.

He enjoyed sports, particularly EOU and Portland Trail Blazer basketball. During his years at EOU he will be remembered for his filming of the basketball games and his assisting coach Art Furman.

Michael will be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, his huge heart for others, his desire to do his best at all times and his integrity. Michael’s favorite memories were when he played quarterback on the high school football team, passing and running for two touchdowns and for the time he was awarded the “game ball” signed by the EOU basketball team.

Survivors include his parents, LeeRoy and Diane Moschkau of La Grande and brothers, Scott Moschkau of Myrtle Creek, Ron Moschkau of La Grande and Darren Moschkau of Crawfordsville, Ind.
