Lindstrom, Rosalynn M. “Rose” Crow Mrs. – Obituary

Rosalynn M. “Rose” Lindstrom, 58, of Halfway, died March 22, 2008, of lung cancer.

Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pine Valley Presbyterian Church in Halfway. Friends are invited to join the family for a potluck reception afterward at the Halfway Lions Hall.

Rose was born on July 6, 1949, in Halfway. She was the eighth of 11 children born to Albert and Beulah Crow. She was raised and educated at Halfway, and graduated from Pine Valley High School. Rose also attended a year at Eastern Oregon State College in La Grande.

Rose married Malcolm A. “Mick” Lindstrom on Sept. 10, 1970, and settled in Elgin, where she raised three children. She served the community as an emergency medical technician for the City of Elgin and the Grande Ronde Hospital Emergency Department.

After the death of her husband in 1987, Rose returned to Halfway, where she continued to serve the community through the local food bank, and as a proud member of the Halfway Lions Club. She was best known for her amazing generosity and willingness to help anyone in need, her family said.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Beulah Crow; and her husband, Mick Lindstrom.

Survivors include her three children, Lance Lindstrom of Siletz, Kathy Lindstrom Dillon of Roseburg and Craig Lindstrom of Marysville, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Marion Crow, Dick Crow and John Crow of Halfway and Dave Crow of Stanfield; sisters, Louise Tyler, Melba Harrington and Lorraine Gunter of Halfway, Marlene VanCourt of Richland, Betty Wells of Portland and Elaine Woolfe of Vancouver, Wash.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Halfway Lions Club or to help defray funeral-related expenses incurred in Roseburg through Tami’s Pine Valley Funeral Home P.O. Box 543 Halfway, OR 97834.
