Funeral services for Mrs. Mary E. Jones of Milton-Freewater, were held Saturday, July 18, 1964, in the Federated Church in that city, with the Rev. W. James Halfaker officiating. C. W. Wrinkle sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In The Garden”, with Mrs. Donald Clements as organist.

Casket bearers were Herbert Warner, W. D. Croghan, Howard Rice, W. A. Bottorf, Jerry Geister and Walter Rand. Ritualistic services were by Rebekah Integrity Lodge No. 175.
Concluding services and internment were in Milton IOOF cemetery.

Mary Ellen (Weathers) Jones was born March 24, 1886 in the old town of La Grande, Oregon, shortly after the Union Pacific Railroad was completed to that city. She attended school at La Grande, Leap and Enterprise. She was married to John E. Jones, a Trout Creek stock man in 1903. The moved in 1909 to Umapine, near Milton-Freewater, where they lived on a farm until they retired a few years ago and moved into town.

Mr. Jones passed away in 1961.

She is survived by two sons, Paul W. Jones of Tacoma, Wash. And Ralph E. Jones., of Grants Pass, Oregon; one grandson Paul W. Jones Jr., with the U.S. Army, Washington, D.C..; two brothers, W.C. Weathers of Umapine and Ben Weathers of Enterprise; and several nephews and nieces.

She was a member of the federated Church and Rebekah Integrity Lodge No. 175
