Funeral Held Here For Edna X. Jones
Funeral services were held Wednesday for Edna X. Jones, 68, who passed away at her home on Saturday, April 30. The retired telephone company employee died after a short illness.
Services were conducted at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in La Grande with Rev. William S. Woodman officiating. Burial was at the Cove Cemetery. Arrangements and services were under the direction of Dempsey’s Funeral Chapel.
She was born in Cove on October 9, 1897 and had lived in Union County her entire life.
Survivors include one brother, Tom Jones of Haines, Ore.; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Vansisklen of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Mrs. Dora Porter, Nipomo, Calif.; one niece Betty Boitano, Las Gades, Calif.; two nephews, Bryle Anderson, Croville, Calif., and John Jones, Sacramento, Calif; one step-sister, Mrs. Mona Waring, Portland, Ore.; a step-father, Carl Gassett of Gibray, Calif; and numerous other relatives and friends.
