Hindman, Edgar Idell (Sam) – Obituary

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Langrell Mortuary Chapel for Edgar Idell (Sam) Hindman, 79. He died Monday at St Elizabeth Hospital.

Hindman, a native of Baker, was the son of the late Albert and Adeline Powers Hindman. He was reared in Durkee and Baker where he received his education.

He was engaged in farming and stock raising near Durkee for many years.

Hindman is survived by one son, Dale Hindman of Eugene; one daughter, Lavern Harper of Eugene; two brothers, Charles M. Hindman of Baker and Donald A. Hindman of La Grande; four sisters, Edith H. Johnson and Edna Hindman of Durkee and Louise and Bernice Hindman of San Francisco, Calif.; two grandsons of Eugene; one granddaughter of Eugene; one great granddaughter of Eugene; sever cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The Rev. Lawrence Roumpf will officiate at the service with interment to follow in the family plot in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
