C.R. Henderson Services Held

Charles Richard Henderson of Wallowa, a retired employee of the Union Pacific railroad, and who had lived in and near Wallowa most of his life, passed away at Wallowa Memorial Hospital Wednesday, May 24, 1972 following a lengthy illness.

He was born at Shady Springs, West. Va., on September 24, 1909, son of Giles and Bertha A. Henderson. On May 15, 1934 he was married at Enterprise to Leota Allen who survives him.

Other survivors include three daughters, Carla Henderson of Wallowa, Mrs. Ernest (Kay) Sasser of Enterprise, and Mrs. Robert (Sandra) Martin of Eugene; a brother, William Henderson of Portland; three sisters, Mrs. Chet (Hattie) Hogan and Mrs. Ed (Lena) Miller, both of Portland, and Mrs. Lloyd (Nellie) Kennedy in California; Two step-sisters, Alice Richardson and Mabel Gould, both of Coquille; and five grandchildren.

Memorial services were Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Bollman Chapel with Frank Ingersoll officiating. Pianist was Lollie Ingersoll.

Casket bearers were: O.W. McKenzie, Verdo Baird, Bob Dougherty, James McCrae, Marion McCrae and Vern Werst; and internment was in the Wallowa Cemetery.
