Hall, Graydon “Dennis” Leroy – Obituary

Graydon “Dennis” Leroy Hall, 66, died March 1, 2008, at Baker City.

There will be a celebration of his life later at his cabin that he loved so well.

Dennis grew up at Glenns Ferry, Idaho, where he graduated from high school in 1960. After high school, he attended college in California and in Boise. He worked for the Boise Fire Department from 1963 to 1977. He then completed his journeyman electrician requirements and started his own business.

Until his retirement, Dennis lived in several locations throughout Eastern Oregon and worked as an electrician. Building and remodeling homes was Dennis’ true talent.

He built and remodeled many homes from the time he graduated from high school until his retirement. In 2003 he finally found his dream property near Sumpter. He loved the solitude and peace that it brought him and enjoyed watching and caring for all of the wildlife on or around his property, his family said.
He also enjoyed spending his time there fishing at the reservoir and the streams and playing golf at Quail Ridge Golf Course.
Another of Dennis’ passions was playing cribbage. There was maybe nothing that brought him more joy than skunking someone at the game and hearing them whine about it, his family said.

He relished the time he spent with his grandchildren. He spoiled them as any good Grandpa should. Dennis had a great sense of humor and a very generous nature. He could always be counted on for help in any situation. He will be sorely missed by all who had the good fortune to know him, his family said.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn E. Hall; and his mother, Ruth M. Hall.

Survivors include his son, Frank, daughter in-law, Richelle, and grandsons, Graydon and William; his brothers, Jim and John; nephews, Mitch and Casey; a niece, Pierce; and his beloved dog, Sunny.
Coles Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
