Curtis, Donald Eugene – Obituary

Donald Eugene Curtis, 51, died on Feb. 23, 2005 at his home in Wallowa. He was born June 16, 1953 in Enterprise to Roy Laverne Curtis and Jessie Lee (Collins) Curtis.

Mr. Curtis graduated from Enterprise Seventh Day Adventist School and later attended Gem State Academy, Treasure Valley Community College and Clackamas Community College.

He worked as a long haul truck driver, and enjoyed guns and reloading, visiting with friends, welding and doing mechanic work.

He was an avid collector of M&Ms memorabilia.

He is survived by his wife Leslie (Henderson) Curtis; parents Roy and Jessie Curtis; children Margret Curtis of Enterprise and Ronald E. Curtis of Wallowa; grandchildren Kyle Curtis of Salem, Kristen Freisen of Kaiser, Kameron and Jessica Knowland of McMinnvile, Ethan Curtis of Independence and Brian Brisco of Salem; brothers Roy Leon Curtis of Kila, Mont. and Roger D. Curtis of Enterprise; several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins; and former wives Dee Jarmin of Tillamook and Gayle Lyman of Elgin.

A memorial service will be held March 5 at 3:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Hall in Wallowa, followed by a potluck dinner. Remains will be cremated.

Donald Eugene Curtis, 51, of Wallowa died Feb. 23 at his home of natural causes. A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday March 5 at the Wallowa Odd Fellows’ Hall with a potluck dinner afterwards. Bollman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Curtis was born June 16, 1953, to Roy Laverne and Jessie Lee Collins Curtis in Enterprise. He graduated from the Seventh-day Adventist School in Enterprise and attended Gem State Academy, Treasure Valley Community College and Clackamas Community College. He married and divorced Dee Jarmin and Gayle Lyman, before marrying Leslie Henderson. He worked as a truck driver, mechanic and welder. He enjoyed guns, reloading and visiting his friends.

Survivors include his wife of Wallowa; children, Margret Curtis of Enterprise and Ronald Curtis of Wallowa; five grandchildren; his parents; brothers, Roy Curtis of Kila, Mont., and Roger Curtis of Enterprise; and other relatives.
