Beth Porter Clark, 86, of Halfway died Feb. 14, 2002, at Halfway after a long illness.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Pine Valley Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Bill Shields will officiate. Vault interment will be at Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery in Anchorage, Alaska.

Mrs. Clark was born on Dec. 11, 1915, at Burton, Idaho, to Milburn Wyatt Porter and Blanche Middleton Porter. She married Don H. Clark on July 3, 1935, at Jackson Hole, Wyo., and moved to Anchorage in 1950. Mrs. Clark worked as a seamstress for Alaska Cleaners and Northern Commercial Co. in the early years and later was a bookkeeper for her husband’s construction company.

Beth enjoyed entertaining friends and they often referred to her home as “Beth’s Boarding House.” She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and loved gardening, sewing and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. In 1992, she moved to Halfway to be closer to her daughter.

Survivors include her two brothers, Jack Porter of Soda Springs, Idaho, and Ross Porter of Portland; a sister, Patti Haslett of Portland; a son, D. Craig Clark of Anchorage, Alaska; a daughter, Judi Haney of Halfway; five grandchildren, Kelly Brennan and Brian Miller of Halibut Cove, Alaska, Shelly Eldred of Eagle River, Alaska, Tammy Mele of Merritt Island, Fla., and Todd Clark of Anchorage, Alaska; and six great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Don, and grandson, Mark Brennan, both died in 1982. Two brothers and one sister also preceded her in death.
