Kody Bonham Cannon, 3, died July 29 in La Grande. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Kody was born March 16, 2004, in La Grande. His family says that Kody was a happy boy who, no matter what, had a smile on his face. Kody enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Kody enjoyed cutting and drawing, leaving many masterpieces behind, family members say.

Throughout his short life, his family says that he touched many other people. They say that Kody taught, in his own way, each person he met lessons in life. His family says that Kody’s love for life will live on in all those who knew him.

Kody is survived by his parents, Chris and Kristi Cannon of La Grande; brothers, Cole Walker, Wyatt Cannon and Morgan Cannon of La Grande, and Dalton Peaks of Boise; grandparents, Larry and Alexis Cannon of Canyon City and George Walker Jr. of Seneca; great-grandmothers, Doris Walker of Seneca, Juanita Denny of Lyford, Texas, and Jewel Peringer of Redmond; aunts and uncles, Kimberly and Mike McManus of Seneca, Veranda Cannon of La Grande, and Andy and Heather of Brentwood, Calif.; cousins, Wade and Jessie McManus of Prosser, Wash., Noah and Luke Cannon of Brentwood, Calif.; and many other family members.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kody B. Cannon Memorial Fund in care of Driskill Memorial Chapel 241 S. Canyon Blvd., John Day 97845.
