Buzzard, James Roy “Butch” – Obituary

Baker City, Oregon

James Roy “Butch” Buzzard, 67, of Baker City died Jan. 14, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Health Services.

His graveside funeral will be Saturday, Jan. 20, at 11 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in Baker City. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception at the Truck Corral following the service.

Butch was born July 21, 1939, at San Francisco to James and Dorthey (Dodd) Buzzard. He graduated high school, did a stint in the Army, then became a paver and worked construction.

In 1986 Butch moved to Baker City. He loved hunting, fishing, shooting matches and driving around in the mountains. He enjoyed racing cars and motorcycles as well as riding bulls in the rodeo.

Butch is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, James H. and Candice Buzzard of San Rafael, Calif.; daughters, Barbara Buzzard and her husband, Mark Brazee of Pittsfield, Mass., Anita and James Lyman of Baker City, and Jean and Mike Dilley of Iowa; his brothers, Ron Buzzard and his wife, Marge, of Auburn, Calif., and David Buzzard of Chilko, Nev.; a sister, Joanne Howard of Oronton, Ohio; grandchildren, Holli Holler Quercia, Brandi Brown, Barbara Brown, Jessica Brown, Anita Russo, Patrica Brazee, Kyle Brazee, Emilee Buzzard, Jake Buzzard, Ashley Dilley and Jacob Dilley; great-grandchildren, Taydem Childs Holler, Kaylyn Quercia, Shyanne Quercia, Rance Quercia Jr., Angelina Barfuss Brown and Kaydence Barfuss Brown.
