Grace “Emma” Bubb, 98, of Baker City, died Oct. 2, 2006, at her home.

Her graveside memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery. There will be a reception afterward at the Geiser Grand Hotel.

Emma was born on Nov. 13, 1907, at Durkee to William Mountain “Mount” and Rosa Emma Moore. Emma spent her childhood at Durkee working on the ranch and attended the Plano school.

She married Fred Bubb on Jan. 25, 1930. They had a daughter, Janice. Emma loved to fish, knit and spend time taking care of children.

She had a certain magic about her that all children loved. She will forever remain in all of the children’s hearts that she graciously looked after.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Sierra Gertrude Mead.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Mitchell of California; a nephew, Norman Mead, his wife, Pam, and son, Kenny, of Washington; cousins, Delbert and Phyllis Gossett and Mina Burnside; also her extended family, Corey, Christina, Colton and Cas Smith, Taylor Murphy and Joe, Bea and Mary Ann Brooks
