Summerville, Union County, Oregon

Mrs. Mary Jane Brooks, age 81, died at her home near Imbler Saturday evening, February 19, 1927.

She was an old and respected pioneer, having lived in Union County fifty-three years.

She is survived by her husband, S. L. Brooks; four daughters-Mrs. Ida Hawley, Mrs, Richard Bidwell, Miss Anna Brooks, Mrs. Stella Huron, one son-Wade Brooks and a host of friends who extend sympathy to the bereaved family.

Funeral was held at the Summerville chapel Tuesday. February 22, 1927 at 111 o’clock a. m. Rev. W. H. Bleakney of Walla Walla, former pastor of Summerville church, and an old time friend for thirty years, conducted the services.

Inerment in the Summerville cemetery.
