Joseph, Wallowa County, Oregon
Elizabeth Ruth Bohnenkamp passed away in her sleep on April 23, 2000, while residing at the Alpine House in Joseph.
Betty was born in 1918 and has been a lifelong resident of both union and Wallowa counties. She graduated from La Grande High School and the University of Oregon. She was a retired school teacher and was very active in the AAUW and the Linus Pauling Foundation.
She was the daughter of Chase and Mabel Bohnenkamp, now both deceased.
She is survived by sister Nancy Winter, Los Angeles, California; niece Sally Glaske, Newport; nephews, Russell Winter of Tacoma, Washington, Christopher Winter of Wayland, Maryland, and Brian Winter of Manhatten, Kansas; 12 grand-nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives.
The family requests any memorial remembrances by sent to the La Grande Public Library in Betty’s name. A memorial service will be held in Joseph in August, 2000.
