Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Daniels Valley Funeral Chapel for Arlie Bartmess, 1705 U Ave., who died Friday at Grande Ronde Hospital.

The Rev. Roger Patrow of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Vault interment and concluding services will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Baker.

Mr. Bartmess, 79, was a logger until his retirement.

He was born on May 14, 1904, in La Grande to Edward and Elizabeth (Robbs) Bartmess. He married Faye M Of____ley of Manhattan Beach, Calif., a daughter, Shannon Benefit, Hermiston; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous other relatives.

He was preceded in death by five brothers, Claude, Gene, Clint, Rex and Benjamin; and a sister, Myrl.
