Levi Arbon Allen, born March 6, 1895 in Bradford, Tennessee, died February 18, 1958. He was the youngest child of Margaret Bell and Bevely Allen, and came to Wallowa, Oregon with his father in 1904. They took out a homestead on Smith Mountain where Arbon grew to manhood.
He was married to Violet Hearing who survives him. Four children were born: Hazel (Mrs.) Bud Sleuter) of Pendleton, Warren and Wanda of Pendleton and Bernice (Mrs. Charles Wasson) of Wisconsin. He is also survived by six grandchildren and four sisters: Mrs. J. F. Gregory, Enterprise, Mrs. Alvis Lassiter and Mrs. Bernard Wise, Milton-Freewater, and Mrs. L. J. Wall, of Portland. Three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Much of his life was spent in logging and mill work and he was a veteran of World War I. He was scaling logs on the pond at Bates Mill at the time of his death, which resulted from a stroke. He became ill February 11th and passed away February 18th at the Wallowa Memorial Hospital.
