Sailed for France April 26, 1918. Promoted to 1st Lt. July 12, 1917. Fought in all actions of 30th Div. Enlisted in 1st N.C. N. G. Aug. 8, 1916. Was transferred from Inf. to Engineers Sept. 1, 1917. Returned to USA April 14, 1919, Charleston, S. C. Mustered out at Camp Jackson May 13, 1919.
