Sent to Camp Sevier, S. C. Sailed for France May 28, 1918. Fought at the Battle of Kemmel Hill, Hindenburg Line. Killed at Battle of Kemmel Hill by an artillery shell Sept. 29, 1918. Buried in Grave No. 44, Old Hickory No. 3 Cemetery, Commance of Pontru, in the Department of the Aisne.
