Private, 105th Supply Train, Co. A, 30th Div. Born in Edgecombe County; the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Copeland. Husband of Mrs. Murphy Copeland. Entered the service at Goldsboro, N.C., June 4, 1917. Was sent to Camp Sevier, S. C. Sailed for France June, 1918. Arrived in USA April 10, 1919. Mustered out at Camp Jackson, S. C., April 15, 1919. Served in N.C. N. G. three years.
