2. PHINEHAS2 COBURN (Merrill1) b. Sept. 6, 1778; m. April 14. 1803, Hannah French of Cornish, dau. of Ephraim and Comfort (York) French, b. June, 1778. It appears that they settled in E. Wallingford, Vt., as several of the family were reared there. The record of their children is deficient in order and in dates, so the arrangement may not be correct. The following has been obtained:

i. PHEBE AMANDA, b. July 28, 1804; m. first -, Ara Bailey and had three children. He d. -. She m. second, -, Pratt and had one dau., Imogene; m. third, April 25, 1848, Dr. Samuel Hardy of Cornish (his third wife). One child. (See Hardy.) Shed. April 4, 1882.
ii. SYLVESTER, b. Oct. 22, 1805; m. March 7, 1833, Lucy A. Davis, b. Oct. 21, 1803. Rem. to Springfield. Vt., in 1882. Lucy A. d. Aug. 30; 1884. He d. Jan. 4. 1891. Seven children.
iii. ORLANDO, b. -, lived in Meadville, Pa.
iv. ORPHEUS, b. -, lived in Reading, Vt.; m. -, Salome Goddard.
v. PRUDENTIA B.. b. Feb. 6, 1813; m. Nov. 12. 1838, Dr. Samuel Hardy of Cornish (his second wife). Four children. (See Hardy.) She d. Dec. 16. 1847.
vi. ALVAH, lived in Enosburg, Vt.; m. -, Hannah Walbridge. A son of his (Horace) came to town, in 1907, to live, purchasing the Henry Gould place up east of the Flat.
