Genealogy of George Dana Kenyon

GEORGE DANA3 KENYON (Joseph2-1) was b. March, 1817; m. first, May 20, 1846, Sarah Maria Bartlett, a sister of the wife of his brother, Isaac C., b. Aug. 27, 1821, and d. Oct. 8, 1865; m. second, June 27, 1866, Lizzie Quinton Atwood of Weathersfield, Vt., dau. of Dr. Robert and Elvira M. (Nutting) Atwood, b. 1835 (?), and d. Aug. 8, 1885. Mr. Kenyon was a first-class musician, leader and instructor of the Windsor brass band many years, was choir leader, etc.
It will be observed that Mr. Kenyon and his brother Isaac married sisters on the same day, and together settled in the same house on “Kenyon Hill” in 1846. The brother Isaac d. in 1857.

Mr. Kenyon continued on the place till after the death of his second wife, when his health failing, he sold his farm in 1887 and retired. He d. Sept. 19, 1889, aged 72. Children, all b. in town:

1. EDWIN G., b. Dec. 12, 1849.
2. STELLA M., b. March 3, 1859; m. Oct. 26, 1880, Orwin A. Huggins formerly of Cornish, but has been employed many years as freight agent in Windsor, Vt., where they res. One child: Jessie, b.

Child by second wife:

1. FLORENCE M., b. Nov. 12, 1872; m. in Claremont Nov. 27, 1889, Fred W. Hurd of Croydon. Lived in town till 1904, when they rem. first to Newport two years and in 1906, to Claremont. Five children. (See Hurd.)
