Ferguson, Isla – Obituary

Isla Pearl Ferguson, 84, a long-time resident of Baker City, Oregon died June 24, 1991 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Her funeral was at 10:00 a.m. June 27, at the Pioneer Chapel at Gray’s West and Co Internment was in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Pastors Steve and Linda Toth of the First Presbyterian Church officiated.
Mrs. Ferguson was born November 6, 1906 in Ord, Nebraska, the daughter of Bert and Nora Mattley Williams. She spent her childhood and attended schools in Nebraska.
She attended college in Nebraska and Oregon. She married William “Bill” Ferguson on May 2, 1925. The couple lived in Nebraska before moving to Pendleton and then to Enterprise, Oregon. They moved to Baker City, Oregon in 1966. Mrs. Ferguson taught school in Nebraska and Oregon. She attended Eastern Oregon State College at La Grande, Oregon. She was a homemaker most of her life.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her children, Virginia Haydan of La Grande, Oregon, William C. Ferguson of Pendleton, Oregon, Audrey Best of Baker City, Oregon and Jack Ferguson of Adams, Oregon; a sister; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and a sister.
Memorial gifts may be made to the St. Elizabeth Hospital Foundation through Gray’s West and Company.
