While we know our northern friends may not feel it, in the South, Spring is
here. So we thought we'd share a few of our gardening sites appropriate
for this time of the year. Along with gardening, there's grilling, and getting
ready to diet so that you can fit back into that bathing suit this summer!
Black Indians. Mentioned by Bontemantel and Van
Baerlein 1656 (N. Y. Doc. Col. Hist., i, 588, 1856). They and "the
Southern Indians, called Minquas," are spoken of as bringing furs to trade with
the Dutch on Schuylkill r. Possibly the Nanticoke, who were said to be darker
than their neighbors. (J. M.)
