Comment: I am looking for any information on Josephine and her family. She was a Seminole Indian who married William Frederick Greene. They had three children; William, Estelle Grace, and Clara Greene. Estelle was my grandmother. The family story is that Josephine shot William while holding one of the children. The three children were later placed in a Masonic orphanage, which burned down along with all records. Any additional information would be greatly appreciated.

Ancestors Name: VOUTE, Henry
Nee:
Date of Birth:
State: Pennsylvania
Comment: My ancestor's name was Henry VOUTE. (pronounced Vo-TAY). He was a Seminole Indian, from the Southeastern US, possibly Florida. He allegedly murdered someone or was accused of murder and fled north where he eventually settled in eastern Pennsylvania and married into a Pennsylvania Dutch (German) family. I think he might be the father of my great-great grandmother, Caroline SMITH-YARD, who was born in 1850. I found a Henry Voule listed on an 1840 census of "free white persons" from Orwigsburg, PA. He was listed as the head of the household.

Ancestors Name: ROBERTS, Hilda
Nee: Unknown
Date of Birth: Unknown
State: Florida
Comment: This is my grandmother. I have only family oral confirmation that I am Seminole although my father, Robert E. ROBERTS, took my mother and I to the reservation when I was a child. Hilda was my father's mother. Our family separated when I was a young child and I didn't know my grandmother well or have an opportunity to learn about our family heritage or tribal ways although I was always included in my close friends' tribal lives (Western tribes). My parents and grandparents are all dead now so I have no other source of information. Whatever help you can provide with so little informaiton would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
