Comment: I am the granddaughter of Jim THROPE, my father was his son out of wed lock. I want to find out as much as I can about my tribe. I believe they were Sac n Fox I need to find the roll number for them so I can apply for my citizenship. I would be most greatful for any help anyone can give me. This information was passed down from my grandmother Inez Baugh, Baugh was her maiden name at the time. My father was born in Wellsville Utah in 1933. She married Samuel ZEHNER and we have been told that her ancestor could have come from the black hawk indian village in Mount Audurn, Shelby co.,Indiana on land sold in 1818. Comment: Josephine LESTER was born in Kansas Jan. 3 , 1854. She later lived at the Meskwaki Settlement (formerly known as Sac & Fox) in Tama, Iowa. My grandmother's journals say Josephine was 1/2 Sac & Fox and lived at the reservation in Tama. Josephine married David L. COX in Iowa and had five children. Josephine died June 30, 1890 and is buried at Cottonwood Cemetery in Lake City, Iowa. Who were Josephine's parents? Any help is appreciated!

They lived in Clay County Tennessee when she was married to John NEWMAN. She died in Franklin County, Ill., in November 1905.
