Ancestors Name: Guitar, Francis
Nee:
Date of Birth:
State: Iowa
Comment: My great grand father was Francis Guitar, from tracing my family tree I read that he was made a honary chief of the Pawnee Indians, he lead them in a battle with the Sioux Indians He was from Council Bluffs Iowa. And from what I read the battle was held in the Massouri valley? I'm not sure. Did he have a role number? I have been trying to find this out to see if I would have one also. Everybody I know swears that I must have Indian Blood in me due to the way I look This fight took place back in the late 1800's I am origianly from Omaha Nebraska my great grand father is buried in Council Bluffs Iowa along with all the rest of my mother's side of our family. I would really like to know. Thank-you for your time

Ancestors Name: MURIE, James Roth
Nee:
Date of Birth: 1860
State: Oklahoma
Comment: James Roth MURIE, famed Pawnee historian and author son of a Scottish father and Pawnee Mother. We are searching for his father. There was a Captain Jim MURIE who served as a Pawnee Scout and who has been listed as James R. MURIES father. However the pictures of Captain Jim look totally Pawnee and we feel cannot be his father.
