Comment: I am Charles Thomas Ward's granddaughter and Eugene Kennith Wards daughter. Charles died in France during WW1 and did something that allowed his children and grand children to go to West Point Military accademy. I would appreciate any and all help to find out who Charles' mothers name. I am trying to build my family tree and we do know that we are part of the Delaware indians thru my father but he did not get a chance to find out more. We also know that Charles' ancestor signed a peace treaty in Kinderhook, NY. Please help me.

Comment: Charles MARTIN was Native, and born in Chester County Pennsylvania. He lists his race as Mulatto in the 1840-80 census records for Lancaster and Chester County. He states that he was born in Pennsylvania, as were his father and mother. I have found a Lewis MARTIN, who may be a relative to him, who was born in New Jersey (1790). In the 1840 census for Lancaster County, his occupation is listed as basketmaker, and his wifes first name is Jane. Lewis lists his race as black, but I believe he was Native. I would appreciate a lookup for this surname.

Comment: My ancestor, Tamson PAGE-MARTIN was in Lancaster County in 1860, working on a farm. She was twenty years of age, and by 1870 was married. The oral history of our family states that she was Native. She lists her race as Mulatto in the census. She also states that she was born in Pennsylvania and so were her parents. She was living in the Pequea Village area of Pennsylvania, and I believe that she is Delaware. I would like assistance in finding more information on my Page ancestors.

Comment: We have many records tracing the descendents of Anna Elizabeth Catharina RIETH, wife of Johann Leonhardt RIETH (or RITH, REED, REITH, RIED, REID .. and so on), but only one history of the REED family mentions that Anna Elizabetha was rumoured to be of "Indian blood." She and Leonhardt were married around 1716 in Schoharie County, NY and then moved to Tulpehocken, Berks County, PA. I'm not sure what tribe she might have belonged to but am concentrating for now on the Delaware and Mohawk tribes. If anyone knows anything more about Anna or about any records that might be accessed to find out about her parentage, it would be greatly appreciated.

Comment: Need confirmation of his children's names. "Emily" born 1758 in NJ died 1790. Supposedly married Joseph Newton FOX in Greene County, PA in 1778. She is supposed to be buried in Fox Cemetery at Fox Run, Perry or Whitely Twp, Greene Co, PA. They had at least 3 children, maybe 4 named Elizabeth "Betty" FOX b 1781 Unknown FOX b 1783, Mary FOX b 1785 & Martin Peter FOX b 8/2/1790. Can anyone confirm she existed and especially her date of death. Would love to hear from any descendants of Chief White Eyes about the Lenape.
