Comment: "She-Sweeps-The-Dew-From-The-Flowers," was my 10th Great Grandmother and she married William Davis at Jamestown, Virginia. She was the daughter of Chief Opechancanough Mangopeesomon Powhatan and his youngest wife, Cleoptatra Powhatan. I'm looking for accounts of her life, pictures of her family, and perhaps living relatives. This truth has been denied and hidden for far too long. Thanks. Glen

Date of Birth: 1862

Comment: Tarr family resided Penobscot & Bradley areas of Maine in 1850+ Censuses. James was also listed in Non- Pop schedules 1850-1880. James was 18 in the 1880 census for Bradley, Penobscot, Maine. My husband's mother, Burnette Irene Tarr Lyford had a picture on her bureau she confided in my husband was Indian. It was a secret and everyone else in family seems to have kept the secret or did not know. Picture seems to have disappeared. All have since passed and the truth with them. Any Information would be greatly appreciated. He was married to a Jane ( maiden name unknown) and had son Percy A. Tarr; Percy was married to Irene Maude Frost who had sons Vern, Clyde M. and Floyd H., Homer J. ,who became father to Bunny.
My husband would greatly like to know his heritage and if the Tarr family gets their name from the "tarrateen" . Thank you Any info on James wife Jane would also be greatful We have been unable to go back in history beyond them .

Comment: I was born June 20, 1954 in Ontario, Canada.I just found out my father was a Native American from there that lived on a reservation near Mimnic, Ontario. His first name was Charles, last name unknown, and he had a catering business on the reservation. My mothers name was Patricia CLARKE ,and took me off the reservation when I was about one years old. This is the only information I have about my father I would at least like to know what reservations are near there so I can start a search.

Comment: I have decided to search for my roots. My grandfather did not talk much about his heritage, I think because it was something that they were taught to be ashamed of. I am very proud of my heritage and would like to know if anyone can help me find more information.
