American Indian Genealogy
Census Roll of Choctaw Families residing East of the Mississippi River and in the States of Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama made by Douglas H. Cooper, US Agent for Choctaws, in conformity with Order of Commissioner of Indian Affairs dated May the 23rd, 1855. Native American Genealogy has been fortunate to have a very knowledgeable person volunteer to to provide the answers to your roll questions. This is a free service that we offer to assist you in your search for your ancestors. We ask that you read the instructions carefully and answer the questions fully. If you do not provide your email address, your questions will not be answered. Do not ask a QUESTION THIS WAY or this way james jones. In using all caps, it makes the person feel like you are yelling at them and makes it very hard to read. Using no caps at all creates problems also especially with names. Do not ask for a look up of every surname you are researching on a roll. We receive many queries a day, limit yourself to no more than 2 per day. Your ancestor must have been Choctaw and residing in the States of Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama to be on this roll. View the Cooper Roll Free on line at Native American Genealogy
